Fraud and disputes
Understand detection, evidence preservation, proportionate restrictions, challenges, and reward corrections.
Fraud can include fabricated proof, duplicate participation, coordinated manipulation, account misuse, or attempts to move value outside published rules.
Signals can place an action on hold or send it to review. They should not silently rewrite a final decision.
A defensible case record
The case should preserve the relevant evidence, policy version, signals, decisions, and later corrections. Restrictions should be scoped to the risk and approved by the proper authority.
Members need a clear distinction between:
- a Mission rejection;
- a temporary hold;
- a Space conduct restriction;
- an account safety restriction;
- a reversed reward.
Where policy requires notice or challenge, explain the reason at a useful level without revealing controls that would enable further abuse.
Sponsors should see material campaign fraud and reversals in reports. They should not receive unlimited access to individual case files.
Repeated cases may reveal a flawed Mission, not only bad actors. Improve the rules and incentives when the design itself creates an easy abuse path.
